EASY BAGOONG ALAMANG / SHRIMP PASTE RECIPE

Today, we’re sharing an easy to cook 6 ingredient shrimp paste or bagoong alamang recipe that’s sweet and savoury with a lil spice
This version of shrimp paste or bagoong alamang can be eaten as a dish, condiment or dip and it’s affordable so it’s a great business idea
Let’s begin!
The ingredients that you need are:
1 kilogram alamang or fermented shrimp or krill fritters
2 cups brown sugar
3 inches siling labuyo or red chilli, chop them into tiny pieces
½ cup garlic
¼ cup vinegar
1 cup oil
Grab a bowl and a strainer
put the alamang on the strainer then clean the alamang by removing shells, weeds, small fish and other matters
Once done, grab a clean bowl for the alamang
We don’t wash it with water but instead we’ll squeeze them to extract and drain water.
Preheat 1 cup cooking oil in a pan on medium heat
Saute ½ cup minced garlic until golden brown
Once done, set aside ¼ cup of the sauteed garlic
Preheat up 1 cup cooking oil
Once hot, put minced chilli into the pan
put alamang or fermented shrimp or krill fritters
Pour ⅛ cup vinegar
Cook for 5 minutes then set aside
We’re going to make arnibal or caramelised brown sugar
Pour ½ cup water into the pan then let it boil
Put 2 cups brown sugar then leave it to boil
Once hot pour ⅛ cup vinegar
Cook for 5 minutes or until it thickens
Then put back the alamang or fermented shrimp or krill fritters then leave it to boil
Once hot, lower the heat then let it simmer for 5 more minutes and then you’re done!
That’s it!
Transfer to a bowl or package it to a jar to sell it for your business
add the sauteed garlic as toppings then serve and share with your friends!
Both kids and adults can enjoy this recipe as a dip to compliment the mango, chips, okra and other vegetables or You can also use this as a condiment for your dishes like kare-kare, binagoongan rice or pakbet and more
